XX AmiCigar
It has been one of the great pleasures of my life these last few years to become a part of the international Cuban cigar social scene, which is a group of 500 or so people that regularly travel to attend the various cigar events held around the world.
At the moment, the main events on the scene’s annual calendar consist of:
-The Habanos Festival in late February (cancelled this year, although various people made other plans)
-The Amigos de Partagás, held in Matelica, Italy at the start of each July
-The Partagás Festival in Cuba in November (much smaller than the Habanos Festival)
-The event hosted by Phoenecia, usually the launch of a new cigar somewhere in the middle east in the first week of December
-And, AmiCigar, which is a moveable feast, happening in a different location and dates annually. This year, the 20th AmiCigar was held last week in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam.
